Summary: The Interim Contract Manager role involves overseeing the implementation and management of NEC contracts within a hybrid working environment. The position requires collaboration with the Head of Corporate Landlord and the Hard FM Procurement project team to ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations and drive performance. The contract is expected to last for 5-6 months, with a focus on developing internal processes and tools for effective contract management. Candidates must have significant experience in contract management and a strong understanding of contract law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial assurance and strategic direction, coordinating related projects delivered through contracts.
  • Ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations, managing performance and aligning with key priorities to drive ambition.
  • Monitor supplier engagement and contract compliance, ensuring value for money for the council.
  • Report on performance, key risks, and issues in line with the agreed framework, escalating as necessary.
  • Lead contract reviews, including periodic benchmarking and market testing, and manage commercial matters like supplier reviews, contract variations, and negotiations with key stakeholders.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of applying contract law within a diverse/complex organisation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent.
  • Experience of developing and sustaining effective professional working relationships with a wide range of partners with a proven ability to lead and manage people and budgets.
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of contracts from a client perspective with a proven track record in contract negotiations at a senior level, ideally with experience in the Private and Public sector.
  • Excellent understanding of principles of contract and performance management and ability to apply these practically within a working environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret/present complex information to a range of audiences.

Salary (Rate): £421.68
