Summary: The role of Contract Kafka SME involves designing, deploying, and managing Apache Kafka clusters within a data center and Azure environment. The position requires expertise in managing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters and automating infrastructure provisioning using Terraform. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring cluster performance, troubleshooting issues, and overseeing system upgrades. This is a long-term contract based in Central London with hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage Apache Kafka clusters in data center and Azure environment.
• Manage topics and access control lists (ACLs).
• Monitor and balance the cluster to optimize resource utilization.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot performance issues within Kafka clusters.
• Oversee system upgrades and patching to maintain platform stability and security.
• Onboard new applications to integrate with the Kafka messaging system.
• Manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
• Use Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Automate the operation of Azure Infrastructure.
• Create CI/CD pipelines to deploy infrastructure changes.
• Manage virtual networks within the Azure environment.
• Communicate effectively with Azure support to resolve technical issues.
