Summary: Spectrum IT is seeking a Contract IT Service Desk Engineer for a Portsmouth client, requiring extensive experience in Google Workspace. The role involves providing IT support, maintaining operational efficiency, and enhancing user experience, primarily on-site for four days a week. The position is outside IR35 and is initially for three months. Candidates must be self-motivated problem-solvers with a strong focus on customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the initial point of contact for IT assistance across the business.
  • Provide timely, effective, and professional support for IT technical needs.
  • Resolve issues related to Google Workspace, Azure, Gsuite, and Office 365.
  • Support hardware including Apple MacBooks, Dell laptops, and Chromebooks.
  • Manage collaboration tools such as Zoom, Slack, and Google Meet.
  • Handle everyday system and software issues across various SaaS applications.
  • Involved in hardware management and asset tracking.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in a 1st/2nd line IT support role.
  • Experience with Google Workspace.
  • Experience with Okta (is a plus).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with all levels of an organisation.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn mindset.

Detailed Description From Employer:

Spectrum IT are working with a local Portsmouth client to help them find a Contract IT Service Desk Engineer with extensive experience in Google based environments (Google Workspace). This role has been deemed OUTSIDE IR35, will be for an initial 3 month contract and you will be required to be onsite 4 days per week (1 day remote working per week).

Role: As the IT Service Desk Engineer you will act as the initial point of contact for IT assistance across the business. You'll be passionate about ensuring the business receive timely, effective, and professional support for their IT technical needs. Overall you'll play a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and enhancing the user experience particularly relating to Google Workspace. As an IT support specialist, you will work with end-users to resolve issues and play a key role in ensuring seamless IT support across the business. You'll report into the Service Desk Manager / IT Operations and provide a mixture of software and hardware support. Including:

  • Google Workspace
  • Azure
  • Gsuite and Office 365
  • Apple MacBooks, Dell laptops and Chromebooks

In this role, you'll support a range of collaboration and communication tools such as video conferencing systems and messaging platforms, including Zoom, Slack, and Google Meet. You'll also play a key part in resolving everyday system and software issues across various SaaS applications. Additionally, you'll be involved in hardware management and asset tracking, ensuring an organised and well-maintained inventory. Extensive experience with Google Workspace is a must!
