Summary: The role of a Data and Security Network Engineer focuses on load balancing, proxy management, and Cisco networking within the investment banking sector. Candidates are expected to have extensive experience in configuring and managing network systems, particularly with F5 and AVI technologies. The position is hybrid and requires proximity to major cities in the UK. The contract is initially for 12 months and classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and configure load balancing and proxy solutions.
- Manage and configure Cisco switches and routers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
- Ensure adherence to network protocols and security best practices.
- Maintain and manage load balancers (F5 and AVI) and proxies (Skyhigh Web Gateway).
Key Skills:
- 5 years of experience as a Load Balancing and Proxy Network Engineer.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing F5 and AVI load balancers.
- Experience with Skyhigh Web Gateway proxies.
- Strong DMZ architecture and engineering experience.
- Knowledge of VPN designs and configurations on Cisco platforms.
- Working knowledge of BGP, Multicast, and DNS.

As a Data and Security Network Engineer, your qualifications will include:
- Proven experience (5 years) as a Load Balancing and Proxy Network Engineer.
- Proven experience (5 years) implementing and configuring Cisco Switches and routers.
- Strong proficiency in configuring and managing load balancers (F5 and AVI) and proxies (Skyhigh Web Gateway).
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.
- Relevant certifications (eg, F5, AVI, Cisco) will be an advantage.
As a Data and Security Network Engineer, your skills will include:
- Experience with load balancing technologies (F5, AVI)
- Ability to configure Skyhigh Web Gateway proxies.
- Strong DMZ architecture and engineering Experience
- Experience and working knowledge of VPN designs and configuration on Cisco platforms.

Initial 12 month contract (will be extended further) - inside IR35 - candidate must be near Manchester/Liverpool/Stoke/Birmingham (hybrid working)
