Summary: The role of Interim Head of Engineering involves leading three product-driven engineering teams within a media-focused digital platform. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage three engineering teams, consisting of approximately 15 engineers.
- Focus on strategy, coaching, and leadership rather than coding.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive impactful work.
- Influence product delivery and engineering practices within the organization.
Key Skills:
- Proven leadership experience across multiple engineering teams.
- Experience in mid-sized tech organizations (150-200 people).
- Strong product and delivery instincts.
- Ideally, experience in media or ad-tech sectors.
- Familiarity with technologies such as AWS, BigQuery, TypeScript, Scala, Android (Kotlin), and iOS (Swift).
- Experience with high-availability systems and app ownership.
Salary (Rate): £140.00/hr

With experienced Engineering Managers in place, your role is not about code, it’s about strategy, coaching, and leading leaders. What you’ll bring
- Proven leadership across multiple engineering teams
- Experience in mid-sized tech orgs (~150–200 people, with ownership of circa 15-30)
- Strong product and delivery instincts
- Ideally, media or ad-tech experience
