Overview

An experienced Front End Engineer is required to support a high-profile programme within a secure environment. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering modern, responsive user interfaces, working closely with cross-functional teams and end users.

• Key Responsibilities

• Develop modern, responsive front end applications using React and TypeScript
• Build real-time, data-driven features (e.g. WebSockets / SignalR)
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and users to define and deliver requirements
• Contribute to scalable, maintainable front end architecture
• Integrate UI components with APIs and backend services
• Write clean, secure, and well-tested code
• Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos)
• Work with user researchers to translate user needs into technical solutions
• Support containerised environments as part of the wider platform
• Produce clear documentation and prototypes

• Key Skills

• Strong JavaScript and front end development experience
• React (or similar frameworks such as Vue or Angular)
• Experience building responsive, user-focused interfaces
• Real-time data handling (e.g. WebSockets)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
• Desirable Skills
• js (tooling or full-stack exposure)
• Nginx or similar web servers / reverse proxies
• Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman
• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Bash or PowerShell scripting
• Understanding of databases and API integrations
• Experience within defence or secure environments
