MCS Group is looking for a Contract Business Analyst for a 3 - 6 month contract with a VC backed SaaS company in Belfast. As Business Analyst, you will be heavily involved in 'Version 1' of this client's newest offering, taking new product features right through the software journey, end-to-end. As Business Analyst, you will work closely with the technical team to ensure feature delivery, and work from requirements gathering, writing effective user stories, right through the cycle. You will write excellent user stories, really understanding everything from the end user perspective, and be comfortable translating this back to the technical team. This client is an early-stage SaaS company, and you will get exposure to the 'start-up' life and the excitement that comes with this kind of environment. You will work from home the majority of the time however the client are based in Belfast and the role will have some on-site requirements, for e.g. kick off, and team collaboration meetings. The Person This role requires prior commercial experience in a similar position, working in a Business Analyst or Product Owner capacity, ideally on software/SaaS projects, end-to-end, ideally for web and mobile. You will have demonstrable experience of writing and gathering technical requirements, working closely with development and technical teams, creating functional specifications, creating high quality user stories, process mapping and working with an 'end-user-perspective.' You will have prior experience in an Agile environment and be familiar with Agile duties. A background in hands-on software development is not essential, but you must be comfortable in a technical environment and collaborating closely with software teams. Experience of working on SaaS projects is highly desirable but not essential.
