Summary: The role of Business Analyst focuses on supporting a multi-year cloud platform migration through data migration efforts. The position involves profiling, mapping, and validating complex datasets while collaborating with technical teams to ensure accurate data migration. The role requires advanced Excel skills and a strong understanding of data management processes. This is a 6-month initial contract based in Manchester with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage stakeholders to elicit, challenge, clarify and document requirements
- Analyse legacy and target system data, identify gaps and validate accuracy
- Lead data migration, ETL and data management across multiple systems
- Leverage advanced Excel for analysis, mapping, reconciliation, automation
- Develop process documentation, training materials and user guides
- Identify opportunities to automate processes (scripting, RPA, AI-enablement)
- Create dashboards and performance reports (Excel or Power BI)
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in complex data migration projects (cloud platforms preferred)
- Strong understanding of ETL, data mapping, reconciliation and profiling
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, cleansing, macros, Power Query)
- Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets across multiple systems
- Excellent analytical mindset, attention to detail and problem solving

X4 Technology are partnered with a high-growth organisation seeking a Data Migration Business Analyst to support a multi-year cloud platform migration. In this position, you’ll profile, map and validate complex datasets, uncover gaps, highlight inconsistencies, resolve duplicates and recommend solutions. Leveraging advanced Excel skills – including pivot tables, complex formulas, data cleansing, automation etc – you’ll collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and reliable data migration.
