Contentful CMS Architect (Contract) London, 6 month contract, £350 - £390 Day Rate (Outside IR35) This is a great opportunity to step into a pivotal CMS role, owning the architecture and setup of Contentful for a large digital agency. You will be taking over from an experienced specialist, with the chance for structured knowledge transfer and a clear remit to make an immediate impact on website experience and personalisation.
The Company They are a well-established, consumer-focused organisation with a complex digital landscape and a strong emphasis on personalised customer experiences.With significant investment in their content and asset management capabilities, they are looking for a contractor who can stabilise, optimise and future proof their CMS setup. You will join at a time where your expertise will directly shape how content and assets are delivered to millions of users. This is an initial 6 month contract, 4 days per week, with 1 day per week in their London office and a start date as soon as possible to enable knowledge transfer from the outgoing specialist.
The Role and Deliverables Take ownership of the Contentful CMS setup, ensuring it is configured to support current and future website experiences. Design and refine the CMS architecture so that Contentful connects effectively with both internal and external systems. Work closely with multiple teams to understand how the CMS should operate, and translate those needs into scalable structures and workflows. Ensure smooth integration between Contentful and the Digital Asset Management solution so that web experiences correctly consume assets. Support and enable personalised website experiences by ensuring the CMS and assets can be used effectively by personalisation tools. Facilitate knowledge transfer by capturing and documenting key processes and architectural decisions from the current specialist before they leave.
Your Skills & Experience Strong experience working with Contentful as a CMS, including setup, configuration and ongoing optimisation. Proven capability designing CMS architectures that integrate with a variety of internal and external systems. Solid understanding of how websites consume content and assets, and how those assets flow from a Digital Asset Management platform into front end experiences. Experience collaborating with cross functional digital teams, translating business requirements into practical CMS structures and integrations. Exposure to website personalisation tools, for example Adobe Target or Optimizely, and an understanding of how CMS content supports personalised experiences.
