Summary: ReachTV is seeking a Content & Programming Manager to enhance its programming strategy and audience engagement across its global OTT networks. The role involves content acquisition, scheduling, and collaboration with various teams to ensure effective content delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media, particularly in the UK and international markets, and a passion for television. This position requires strategic thinking and excellent negotiation skills to drive audience growth and optimize content offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and oversee the network’s content vision and long-term programming strategy.
  • Balance a mix of original productions, acquisitions, and library content to align with brand and audience goals.
  • Research and identify compelling UK and international video content across platforms and providers suitable for ReachTV’s audience and public environments.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate acquisition deals for third-party content (e.g., finished shows, formats, films).
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, producers, and content partners globally.
  • Lead the programming calendar, ensuring effective scheduling that maximizes audience engagement and ratings.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, research, and digital teams to optimise launch plans and promotional activity.
  • Perform quality control checks on video content and captioning files.
  • Review incoming content to ensure compliance with technical specifications and public appropriateness.
  • Use data and performance analytics to inform programming decisions.
  • Stay ahead of audience trends, competitor moves, and emerging content opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure timely delivery and publishing of content.
  • Work alongside in-house production team to identify new content opportunities.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in TV content acquisition, programming, or content strategy at a broadcaster, streamer, or major content platform.
  • Strong understanding of TV audience behaviour, market trends, and content performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with global media markets, particularly the UK and international content trends.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and editorial judgement.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn proprietary scheduling systems.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • A passion for television and a track record of building engaging channel/content brands.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours for special events.
  • Previous experience working in OTT, broadcast, or digital media environments (preferred).
  • Familiarity with rights management, windowing strategies, and global licensing models (preferred).
