Summary: The Content Designer role focuses on supporting the Government Gateway Catfish team by creating and managing user-centered content in accordance with GDS standards. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure content is accessible and meets user needs. The role involves mapping user journeys and influencing stakeholders while participating in the content design community. This is a contract position lasting for 5 months, with a hybrid working arrangement in Telford.

  • Collaboration: Working with multidisciplinary teams, including user researchers, developers, and policy specialists.
  • Content Strategy: Mapping user journeys, identifying gaps, and managing content throughout its lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building relationships to influence stakeholders and, at senior levels, guiding content strategy and mentoring others.
  • Community: Active participation in the content design community for peer support and development.

Job Description:


We are looking for a Content Designer to support the new build work and live services work we have on the Government Gateway Catfish team.
Following GDS (Government Digital Service) standards you will be expected to create, iterate, and manages user-centred content across the end-to-end user journey for our services. Working in agile teams to ensure content is accessible, accurate, and evidence-based, focusing on user needs over government, policy, or department needs.
