Detailed Description From Employer:

We are recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership on Tazetta Suite , a 16-bed male acute inpatient ward at the Oleaster Hospital. The post holder will lead daily inpatient reviews, manage admissions and discharges, act as Responsible Clinician, and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused care.

The role includes collaboration with Home Treatment Teams and community services, participation in safety huddles, clinical governance, teaching, and involvement in the consultant on-call rota. This substantive 10 PA post offers opportunities for service development, research, and CPD within a large and diverse mental health trust.

Applicants must have full registration with the GMC and hold MRCPsych or equivalent. Section 12(2) approval, approved clinician status and CCT accreditation in General Psychiatry or within 6 months of obtaining CCT are also essential.

The acute care service model incorporates the provision of evidence based and patient orientated assessment and treatment provision for people experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. Services are part of a wider care and treatment pathway that encompasses crisis services, specialist services and primary and secondary community services.

The majority of patients are likely to be detained under the Mental Health Act and the post holder will work with the ward manager, the psychologist, the matron and the occupational therapist as part of a broad based leadership team to improve the care of patients.
