Summary: This role offers an opportunity for three new consultants to join the Paediatric Critical Care team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, providing 24/7 support in a dedicated children's hospital. The positions involve delivering consultant-led care in a high-dependency unit, with flexibility in working patterns and a commitment to evening and weekend shifts. Candidates can also develop specific clinical interests in outpatient services. The posts aim to enhance the critical care team's capacity and support the delivery of comprehensive care to children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultant-delivered and supervised care in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
- Participate in a rolling rota for on-call and out-of-hours coverage.
- Contribute to the clinical team delivering comprehensive care in a 10-bedded critical care unit.
- Engage in outpatient clinics and develop specific clinical interests as discussed with candidates.
- Ensure coverage for evenings, weekends, and on-call commitments as part of job planning.
Key Skills:
- Basic medical degree and FRC [specialty] or equivalent.
- Full and specialist registration with the GMC or eligibility for registration.
- Experience in Paediatric Critical Care and PICU.
- MRCPCH or MRCEM qualification.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in multi-professional teams.
- Evidence of participation in audit and commitment to teaching.
