Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the diagnosis and clinical management of patients in the Acute Medical Unit and Same Day Emergency Care unit.

• Participate in the Acute Medicine rota, including early and late shifts and weekend cover.
• Promote the work of the Acute Medical Unit and support Trust priorities for patient flow improvement.
• Engage in teaching, audit, governance, and research activities within the AMU.
• Provide professional supervision and mentorship to junior medical staff.

Key Skills:

• MRCP or equivalent qualification.
• Full registration with the GMC in General Internal Medicine/Acute Internal Medicine.
• Experience of UK hospital systems and practices.
• Postgraduate experience including higher surgical/medical training.
• Training in diagnosis and treatment of acute medical conditions.
