Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the diagnosis and clinical management of patients in the AMU and SDEC unit.
- Conduct regular ward rounds and provide clinical support alongside junior medical staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues across specialties for a cohesive approach to patient care.
- Participate in the Acute Medicine rota, including shifts and weekend cover.
- Promote the work of the AMU and support Trust priorities for patient flow improvement.
- Engage in teaching, audit, governance, and research activities.
- Provide professional supervision and mentorship to junior medical staff.
Key Skills:
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- Full registration with the GMC in General Internal Medicine/Acute Internal Medicine.
- Experience in UK hospital systems and practices.
- Postgraduate experience including higher surgical/medical training.
- Training in diagnosis and treatment of acute medical conditions.
- Proven teaching ability and willingness to teach medical students and postgraduates.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build and maintain effective teams and demonstrate compassionate leadership.
