Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership, diagnosis, management, and treatment for patients with complex geriatric medicine needs.
  • Act as an expert resource for medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals across the Trust.
  • Champion high-quality medicine for older people locally and regionally.
  • Complement and develop existing services through specialist knowledge.
  • Engage in various aspects of elderly care, including dementia care and acute frailty.
  • Participate in on-call duties for General Internal Medicine.
  • Support part-time and flexible working arrangements.

Key Skills:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Geriatrics and General Medicine.
  • MRCP(UK) or equivalent training and experience.
  • Wide experience in General Medicine.
  • Good understanding of Clinical Governance.
  • Experience in leading and motivating staff.
  • Desirable: Evidence of accredited clinical and educational supervision of medical learners.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree (e.g., MSc, MD, PhD).
