Summary: The role is for a Consultant Employment Solicitor, in-house Counsel, Barrister, Legal Executive, or Case Worker to join the Employment Law team at Martin Searle Solicitors. This temporary position, based primarily from home with occasional travel to Brighton, requires a candidate with over five years of experience in Employment Law. The successful applicant will handle a variety of employment issues, advocate in legal settings, and contribute to the firm's mission of promoting equality in the workplace. The contract is fixed-term until March 2026, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise employees and employers on a full range of employment issues.
- Bring and defend complex discrimination cases.
- Carry out advocacy to at least Case Management stage.
- Advocate at Judicial Mediations and Final Hearings (desirable).
- Provide high-quality service to clients.
- Utilize IT and case management systems effectively.
Key Skills:

We are looking to employ a Consultant Employment Solicitor, in-house Counsel / Barrister, Legal Executive or Case Worker to join our Employment Law team. This is a temporary post with the potential for extension beyond March 2026. We predominantly advise employees but also work with employers on a full range of employment issues and have a national reputation for campaigning for equality in the workplace. You will enjoy all aspects of Employment Law as well as bringing and defending complex discrimination cases. We are a busy firm and you will need to be able to hit the ground running. You need to be a good communicator and team player who is committed to providing a high-quality service to all our clients. You must also be proficient at using IT and case management systems and able to carry out your own advocacy to at least Case Management stage. It is desirable that you advocate at Judicial Mediations and Final Hearings.
