Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, practical construction lessons tailored to KS3 and KS4 learners
- Create an inclusive, and productive workshop/classroom environment
- Support students in gaining confidence, resilience and employability skills
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of learners with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and behaviour mentors to support student development
- Track student progress and contribute to assessment and accreditation where appropriate
Key Skills:
- Practical experience in the construction industry
- Previous experience teaching or instructing construction or related vocational skills is desirable
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH and behavioural difficulties
- Patient, resilient, and passionate about vocational education
- Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, or Level 3 Award in Education & Training) is advantageous but not essential

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Construction Teacher to join a specialist alternative provision in Nottingham (NG5), supporting students aged 13-16 (KS3 and KS4) who are disengaged from mainstream education. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on teaching, thrives in a practical learning environment, and wants to make a difference in young people's lives.
