Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, practical construction lessons tailored to KS3 and KS4 learners
  • Create an inclusive, and productive workshop/classroom environment
  • Support students in gaining confidence, resilience and employability skills
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of learners with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and behaviour mentors to support student development
  • Track student progress and contribute to assessment and accreditation where appropriate

Key Skills:

  • Practical experience in the construction industry
  • Previous experience teaching or instructing construction or related vocational skills is desirable
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH and behavioural difficulties
  • Patient, resilient, and passionate about vocational education
  • Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, or Level 3 Award in Education & Training) is advantageous but not essential

Salary: £180-£210 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only | Long Term to Permanent

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Construction Teacher to join a specialist alternative provision in Nottingham (NG5), supporting students aged 13-16 (KS3 and KS4) who are disengaged from mainstream education. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on teaching, thrives in a practical learning environment, and wants to make a difference in young people's lives.

As a Construction Teacher, you will deliver engaging and vocationally relevant lessons in a small group setting, helping students develop practical skills. You'll be key in guiding students towards gaining real-world skills and working towards industry recognised qualifications.
