Summary: Venesky-Brown is seeking a Construction Project Manager for a public sector project in West Dunbartonshire, lasting until October 2027. The role involves managing the construction contract under NEC4 Conditions, including communication and risk management. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the construction contract in accordance with NEC4 Conditions of Contract.
- Issue and manage early warnings and compensation events.
- Set up and maintain a Risk Register for the project.
- Attend pre-start meetings and chair monthly meetings with stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly progress update reports for the Client.
- Record quantities and assess contractor’s applications for payment certification.
- Conduct cost reporting and manage the Final Account.
- Oversee PM duties during the maintenance period and final inspections.
- Manage data input for the contract period using CEMAR.
Key Skills:
- Civil engineering degree qualification, ideally chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
- Minimum of 10 years construction management experience in similar value civil engineering projects.
- Up-to-date NEC4 qualification and CSCS card.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in West Dunbartonshire, is currently looking to recruit a Construction Project Manager to work on a project running until the end of October 2027. This role would be on a day rate, reflective of market rates (Inside IR35).
Responsibilities:
- Taking the role of PM and undertaking management of the construction contract in accordance with the NEC4 Conditions of Contract including communications (instructions, certificates, submission, proposal, record, acceptance, notification, reply) on behalf of the Client.
- Issuing and managing early warnings and compensation event process in accordance with the NEC4 ECC Conditions of Contract.
- Set up and maintain a Risk Register for the project.
- Attendance at pre-start meetings. Chairing/minuting monthly meetings and liaise with the Principal Contractor, Client and any other parties (such as utilities) to facilitate the smooth running of the project. Prepare progress update report to the Client each month.
- Record quantities and activity progress in order to check and assess contractor’s applications and provide certification of contractor’s payments prior to Client`s approval.
- Cost reporting and Final Account.
- PM duties for maintenance period, final inspections and certification.
- Manage and input data for the contract period using CEMAR. Attend CEMAR training if required.
Essential Skills:
- The Project Manager must have a civil engineering degree qualification (ideally chartered member of the Institution of Civil engineers) with a minimum of 10 years construction management experience in similar value civil engineering projects.
- Their NEC4 qualification and CSCS card must be up to date, have good communication skills and problem-solving skills.
