Summary: The Construction Project Manager will oversee a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Perth, Scotland, acting on behalf of the project owner. This role involves managing the construction lifecycle to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery while adhering to technical and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, along with experience in renewable energy projects. The contract is for 12-18 months with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary interface between the client, EPC contractor, and project stakeholders
- Manage overall construction progress, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to specification
- Lead weekly coordination meetings and ensure alignment across engineering, procurement, and construction teams
- Review and approve project documentation including programmes, RAMS, and progress reports
- Monitor project KPIs, risk registers, and change control processes
- Provide strategic input on construction sequencing and logistics planning
- Support commercial teams with contract management and variation assessments
- Ensure HSE and quality compliance through reporting oversight and auditing
- Conduct site visits for milestone inspections, progress reviews, and critical path reviews as needed
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering grid-scale renewable energy projects (ideally BESS)
- Strong knowledge of construction project management from a client or owner's engineer perspective
- Familiarity with CDM, UK HSE regulations, and QA/QC procedures
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to travel to site when required
- Right to work in the UK
