Summary: The Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage multiple fit-out and improvement projects across a large estate portfolio in Newcastle. This role involves consultative management of Fabric and M&E projects, ensuring compliance and delivery are centrally coordinated. The position is contract-based for approximately 12 months, with a PAYE rate of £32 per hour. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in project management within the construction sector, particularly with new builds and refurbishments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage contractor involvement, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Act as a focal point for the client regarding multiple project deliveries.
  • Lead day-to-day project delivery for various stakeholders, including funds and developers.
  • Select, appoint, and manage design teams for planning applications and statutory approvals.
  • Administer complex building contracts and ensure contractor compliance.
  • Assist in compiling tender documents and reviewing tender returns.
  • Develop project documentation, fee schedules, programmes, and risk schedules.
  • Produce client reports throughout all project stages.
  • Manage client relationships throughout the project cycle.
  • Interpret contracts and implement change management and dispute resolution.
  • Engage in business development with internal and external clients.

Key Skills:

  • MRICS or related Project Management qualification.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and compliance within the construction environment.
  • Strong background in project management for new build commercial buildings and refurbishments.
  • Experience leading projects for various clients, particularly large, complex schemes (£2m to £50m+).
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality project management services.
  • Experience in Fabric and Building projects with M&E overlap.
  • Excellent verbal, numerical, and report writing skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional presentation.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
