Summary: The Construction Manager – Level 4 is responsible for overseeing electrical installation activities on utility-scale energy projects, ensuring compliance with construction, commissioning, quality, and safety standards. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including EPC contractors and operations teams, to meet project specifications. The position is based in Juno Beach, FL, and is a 12-month contract. The role demands extensive experience in power plant construction and commissioning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and understand all project drawings, contract documents, and quality documentation.
- Verify accuracy of drawings, submittals, and technical specifications.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment including EPC contractors, subcontractors, operations teams, and other site stakeholders.
- Oversee electrical installation activities to ensure compliance with scope of work and project standards.
- Conduct inspections of installed equipment to confirm proper installation.
- Facilitate and manage the Request for Information (RFI) process with engineering and EPC teams.
- Utilize project management systems (e.g., Unifier or similar platforms) to document, organize, and upload quality control photographs and installation records.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on progress, safety, and quality metrics.
- Interface with designated safety, engineering, and quality control personnel.
- Support field commissioning, testing, and turnover activities.
- Maintain strong working relationships with EPC partners and site personnel.
- Ensure safety remains the highest priority on site at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Key Skills:
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems and fiber optics infrastructure.
- Familiarity with electrical and fiber testing procedures, including: Insulation Resistance (IR) Testing, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR), Very Low Frequency (VLF) Testing, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) Testing, Fall of Potential Testing, Verification of Conductor/Installation Compliance.
- 15+ years of experience in power plant construction and commissioning environments.
- Proven experience working with EPC contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power generation and commissioning processes.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing field installation, testing, and turnover activities.
