Construction Manager

Summary: The Construction Manager will oversee the construction phase of an onshore wind farm in central Scotland, ensuring full site responsibility and coordination. This role requires collaboration with the Lead Project Manager and Owner’s Engineer, focusing on project delivery, cost management, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The position demands strong leadership and effective communication to manage subcontractors and maintain stakeholder relationships throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate all on-site construction activities.
• Lead delivery of the onshore wind farm construction phase.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers for efficient execution.
• Monitor project costs and manage scope variations.
• Submit regular financial updates to the Lead Project Manager.
• Conduct inspections and audits with the Owner’s Engineer.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Enforce safety policies to ensure a secure work environment.
• Maintain communication with local authorities, internal teams, and the community.
• Provide updates and resolve issues as needed.
• Align on all technical and engineering requirements with the Owner’s Engineer.
• Facilitate ongoing communication and issue resolution.
• Identify risks and implement contingency plans.
• Maintain up-to-date records (contracts, permits, reports).

Key Skills:

• Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in construction management (onshore wind projects preferred).
• Certifications (preferred): SMSTS, NEBOSH, PMP, CCM or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and team management.
• Effective project and financial management.
• Proficient in claims and risk management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Competent in construction management tools.
• Thorough understanding of HSE regulations.

Salary (Rate): £68.75/hr
