Summary: The Construction Manager will oversee and direct multiple multidisciplinary construction projects in the industrial sector, specifically within the food and beverage industry, from concept to completion in Teesside. This role demands strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project milestones. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management and a strategic mindset to handle complex situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee various construction projects including civils, mechanicals, utilities, machinery, and electricals.
  • Manage the construction process on-site, handle unforeseen delays, and supervise all activity to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, local government officials for permits and licenses, contractors, and clients.
  • Engage in stakeholder management with industrial clients, vendors, contractors, and external organizations.
  • Review projects thoroughly to schedule deliverables and estimate costs effectively.
  • Inspect and review projects to ensure compliance with building, safety codes, and regulations.
  • Monitor contract performance and report on conditions.
  • Evaluate work progress daily and prepare status reports.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage change processes during construction.
  • Enforce quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.
  • Develop the Construction Phase Plan and guarantee proper approvals before site activities.
  • Direct and manage workers and subcontractors effectively to meet project outcomes.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of construction management experience, with at least 3 years in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices, materials, and project management principles.
  • Proficient with MS Office and 2D/3D CAD systems.
  • Highly motivated with a strong team spirit, integrity, and accountability.
  • Flexibility for travel and relocation for the duration of projects.
