Key Responsibilities:
- Managing HDD subcontractors, including progress, technical and risk review meetings
- Overseeing site works from mobilisation through to drilling, testing and demobilisation
- Reviewing design documentation, installation procedures and as-built records
- Acting as the key interface across engineering, HSE, quality and other contractors
- Leading reporting into installation and project review meetings
- Ensuring delivery is aligned with programme, safety and project requirements
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering HDD construction scopes on major infrastructure or energy projects
- Background in landfall, nearshore or subsea interface works
- Strong contractor management and site leadership experience
- Ability to review and challenge technical documentation and methodologies
- Comfortable in a site-based, high-responsibility role

Ceto Talent are supporting a major Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project in Teesside and are looking for an experienced HDD & Outfall Lead to take ownership of a critical landfall package. This is a key role on a high-profile energy transition project, focused on delivering horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and nearshore/outfall works as part of the wider infrastructure programme.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the full HDD scope from early-stage coordination through to site execution and completion, working closely with subcontractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.
