Summary: The Construction HSE Manager will oversee health, safety, and environmental activities for a significant expansion project at a vegetable processing plant in Liverpool. This site-based role requires hands-on leadership and compliance with UK HSE legislation, ensuring safety standards are met across multiple contractors and stakeholders. The position is contract-based for 18 months, offering a competitive daily rate. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial projects and a strong understanding of HSE regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day HSE activities on site
- Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, CDM Regulations and client HSE standards/procedures
- Review and manage RAMS, permits to work and method statements
- Conduct site inspections, audits and toolbox talks
- Manage incidents, near misses and corrective actions
- Report HSE performance to the project and client teams
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Construction HSE Manager or Senior HSE Advisor on industrial projects
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM
- Experience in process, food, FMCG, oils & fats, or manufacturing environments
- NEBOSH General Certificate (Diploma preferred)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, contractor-led site environment
