Summary: The Construction Compliance & Accreditation Manager will lead compliance, assurance, and accreditation efforts for a prominent UK construction firm. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role requires strategic oversight of certifications, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position is designed for a senior compliance professional capable of influencing stakeholders and achieving governance enhancements swiftly. This is a critical short-term consultancy engagement focused on delivering tangible results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain all corporate accreditations, ensuring audit readiness and renewal
- Develop and deliver a compliance roadmap covering ISO standards, SSIP schemes, and sector-specific certifications
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of non-conformities
- Maintain compliance registers and evidence packs for regulatory, client, and framework requirements
- Manage and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS), integrating ISO standards
- Ensure alignment with Annex SL for streamlined governance and reporting
- Implement and optimise digital compliance platforms for audits, document control and reporting
- Introduce automation for scheduling, alerts and corrective action tracking
- Use data and BI tools to support trend analysis and decision-making
- Oversee subcontractor and supplier compliance in collaboration with Procurement
- Ensure alignment with PAS 91, Common Assessment Standard and major client frameworks
- Represent compliance in bids, audits and client reviews
- Champion ethical and voluntary schemes
- Identify and secure new accreditations as the business enters new sectors
- Support the wider organisation on compliance best practice
- Line manage one direct report within the compliance function
Key Skills:
- Chartered Quality Institute membership (CQP MCQI preferred)
- 10+ years' compliance leadership experience within construction or the built environment
- Proven track record managing ISO certifications and SSIP schemes
- Strong knowledge of sector-specific schemes (e.g. Achilles, RISQS, FORS, Constructionline)
- Confident using digital compliance systems and reporting / BI tools

Required Experience & Qualifications
