Summary: The Configuration Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to company guidelines and best practices in Configuration Management (CM). This role involves providing guidance to stakeholders, supporting process improvements, and managing the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool and Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The position requires collaboration with project, product, and service teams while performing various CM activities and maintaining controlled data. The Configuration Manager also leads CM activities within projects and supports team members in CM-related queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CM activities including identification, control, planning, change, status accounting, and audit.
- Record, control, maintain, and distribute controlled data.
- Provide reports to the CADM Team Lead and project, product, or service teams.
- Support one or more projects/products as the CADM focal point.
- Maintain the PLM/CMDB in a fit state with the CADM team.
- Manage data in multiple environments as required.
- Ensure good communication and teamwork with internal stakeholders.
- Correspond with customers and suppliers, managing external documentation in the CMDB.
- Support all CM activities facing external stakeholders.
- Contribute to project level activities ensuring CM compliance.
- Monitor and control the quality of internal documents and the state of the CMDB.
- Support project team members with CADM related queries and propose process improvements.
- Run day-to-day management of configuration status for projects.
- Produce Project Configuration and Data Management Plans and manage CCB activities.
- Develop CM processes and tool improvements.
Key Skills:
- Digitally literate and proficient with MS Office Tools.
- Experience with file/data management tools (MS Office, PDF editor, FTP, etc.).
- Full Configuration Management knowledge (Identification, Structures, Baseline Management, Change Management, Auditing).
- Experience with Product Data Management tools (Windchill, Teamcenter, Aras Minerva).
- Understanding of project and product lifecycle.
- Exposure to APQP and CMII is an asset.
- Good standard of education (Degree, HNC, Diploma, NVQ Level 5 or higher).
- Oral and written English language proficiency.
- Minimum 5 years of Configuration Management experience in a technical or data management environment.
- Experience in a CM Liaison role with customers.
