Computer Science Lecturer

We are inviting applications for a Computer Science Lecturer at the University of London Campus. This role is perfect for a dedicated educator with a passion for delivering high-quality, industry-focused education to a diverse international student body. The successful candidate will be involved in designing and delivering course materials, conducting research, and engaging in various academic duties to enhance our learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Design and deliver teaching materials across a range of modules within the computer science discipline, using appropriate teaching, learning support, and assessment methods to ensure student progress.
- Design, mark, and provide feedback on formative and summative assessments, creating opportunities for student improvement.
- Plan, design, and develop learning outcomes and materials within the subject team.
- Contribute to the revision and improvement of curriculum content and delivery.
- Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress, completing all associated academic administration.
- Act as a personal tutor, offering support and guidance to students.
- Develop an active research record and engage in subject professional and/or pedagogy research and scholarship.
- Coordinate and lead small modules in your subject area, ensuring student expectations are met.
- Participate in and develop external networks, contributing to internal and external quality assurance processes.
- Engage in recruitment activities, such as webinars and taster lectures.
- Participate in departmental and school meetings, committees, and other duties as directed by the Head of School or Senior Leadership Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- PhD degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
- Strong research and publication background, with contributions to academic journals (2* and above), conferences, or professional publications.
- Teaching qualification or Fellowship of Advance HE (formerly HEA), or the capacity to obtain this within 12 months of appointment.
- Experience teaching computing-related modules at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
