About Us

In this pivotal role, you will use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to model and assess the structural response of submarine propulsors under quasi-static and dynamic conditions.

You will develop and review FEA models, technical reports, and design documentation, and approve work packages and drawings.

The Role: So, what will you be doing as a Composite Structures Engineer?

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities, applying technical expertise and sound judgement to deliver projects within scope, time, and budget.
• Mentor and share expertise with engineering teams to build capability.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration and ensure compliance with relevant processes and standards.
• Engage with partners and stakeholders to develop joint technical approaches, support business development, and represent the team in forums and customer meetings.
• Ensure safe project delivery, identifying hazards and providing options to reduce risk to as low as reasonably practicable.
• Apply governance consistently across technical programmes and act as a peer or independent reviewer where appropriate.

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent understanding of engineering principles.
• Substantial experience of structural design to recognised codes of practice (Maritime or Civil).
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis of structures and systems.
• Proficiency in FEA software (ideally Abaqus).
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
