Summary: The Composite Designer role at the Cadillac Formula 1 Team involves contributing to the design of composite components and tooling within a dynamic and innovative environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop layouts and schemes for composite assemblies, ensuring optimal design and functionality.
  • Create detailed CAD models and drawings of composite components and tooling.
  • Prepare comprehensive manufacturing information for composite production processes, including materials, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure effective communication and implementation of design specifications.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to Graduate Designers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in Formula 1 or Top-Tier motorsport.
  • Proven experience in a composite design role, including the design of bodywork, wings, bumpers, and interior components within the motorsport industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably CATIA 3DX.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering) or similar.
  • Knowledge of composite component design and materials.
  • Ability to plan and manage own workloads and prioritize in a time-pressured environment.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and comfortable working independently while meeting challenging deadlines.

  • Provide guidance and supervision to Graduate Designers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work

What do you need to bring to the team?

  • Previous experience in Formula 1 or Top-Tier motorsport is essential
  • Proven experience in a composite design role, including the design of bodywork, wings, bumpers, and interior components within the motorsport industry, is required
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably CATIA 3DX, with a proven track record of producing accurate and efficient designs
  • A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering) or similar
  • Knowledge of composite component design
  • Knowledge of composite materials and their properties
  • Knowledge or experience of composites manufacture
  • Ability to plan and manage own workloads
  • Ability to prioritise in a time pressured environment and manage personal deadlines
