Summary: The Component Test Engineer role involves conducting physical testing within a laboratory environment to ensure compliance with passive safety regulations in the automotive industry. The position requires collaboration with customers and the use of modern testing equipment to deliver detailed reports that support engineering development. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical destructive testing on components, systems, and vehicles to meet Passive Safety targets.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure test data supports engineering development and compliance requirements.
- Translate regulation and requirement test protocols into actionable testing processes.
- Utilise modern test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to manage and execute tests.
- Deliver detailed and timely test reports to support engineering and compliance objectives.
- Adapt to potential shift work (earlies and lates) as required later in the year.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in physical testing within a laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of passive safety regulations and requirements, such as FMVSS and ECE.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems, including force, displacement, and acceleration.
- A degree in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
