Summary: The Component Test Engineer role involves conducting physical testing in a laboratory environment, focusing on passive safety regulations within the automotive industry. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical destructive testing on components, systems, and vehicles to meet Passive Safety targets.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure test data supports engineering development and compliance requirements.
  • Translate regulation and requirement test protocols into actionable testing processes.
  • Utilise modern test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to manage and execute tests.
  • Deliver detailed and timely test reports to support engineering and compliance objectives.
  • Adapt to potential shift work (earlies and lates) as required later in the year.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in physical testing within a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of passive safety regulations and requirements, such as FMVSS and ECE.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems, including force, displacement, and acceleration.
  • A degree in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Salary (Rate): £27.21
