Summary: The role of Project Manager – Policy Framework & Design involves leading the design and implementation of a unified Compliance Policy Framework across the EMEA region for a major financial institution. The successful candidate will combine project management and business analysis skills to ensure regulatory alignment and operational efficiency. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a focus on continuous improvement within compliance processes. The contract is set to run until March 2026, with a day rate of £500 via an umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Policy Framework initiative, including mobilisation, design, and implementation phases.
- Conduct detailed requirements gathering across jurisdictions, define current state, and develop options and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Compliance SMEs, Financial Crime, and regional entities to align objectives and validate solutions.
- Oversee the creation of a unified policy structure, including hierarchy, definitions, governance, and document relationships.
- Establish governance structures and provide regular updates to the programme steering committee and senior stakeholders.
- Lead the definition of requirements and work with Technology stakeholders to drive the design and delivery of a centralised repository and workflow tools.
- Support business readiness activities including training, communications, and embedding new frameworks into BAU operations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance framework usability, reduce duplication, and improve policy quality and oversight.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience of project management and business analysis within Compliance, Financial Crime, Risk, or Legal functions in a global financial institution.
- Strong understanding of policy frameworks and lifecycle management, governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience delivering complex, multi-jurisdictional compliance or risk projects.
- Familiarity with EMEA regulatory environments (e.g., UK FCA/PRA, EU regulations).
- Experience working with consultancy partners (ideally Big 4).
- Formal project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.
- Experience with compliance technologies and document management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.

My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services.
They are looking for a Project Manager specialising in Policy Framework, Design and Implementation to join the Change Management Group on an initial contract to the end of March 2026. You will be working Monday to Friday, standard office hours with the occasional out of hours requirement in line with business needs.
