Summary: The Risk Manager (Compliance) role at Valleys to Coast is a 6-month fixed-term contract focused on enhancing compliance frameworks within a values-led housing association in Wales. The position involves collaborating across departments to ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, particularly in the social housing sector. The successful candidate will lead the review and implementation of compliance policies while providing expert advice and conducting audits. This role is pivotal during a period of transformation for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the review and implementation of housing compliance policies and procedures
  • Providing expert advice on legal and regulatory compliance
  • Conducting gap analyses and internal audits (fire, gas, electric, asbestos, lifts, and more)
  • Creating clear, practical guidance to support internal teams
  • Working with stakeholders, tenants, and senior leaders to co-develop policies
  • Supporting assurance frameworks for ongoing compliance
  • Embedding EDI principles and contributing to a positive compliance culture

Key Skills:

  • A professional qualification in a landlord compliance area (e.g. BTEC OND/HND, BSc)
  • NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
  • Strong understanding of statutory housing compliance, especially in Wales
  • Strong track record in delivering Health and Safety/landlord compliance programmes with capital and revenue budget control

Salary (Rate): £55,000.00
