Summary: The Regulatory Engineer role in Huddersfield involves overseeing the compliance lifecycle of innovative products, ensuring they meet EU and UK regulatory standards. The position requires expertise in interpreting and applying various directives and standards, as well as leading certification processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage product compliance and risk assessments. This is a 12-month contract position classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- CE Marking & UKCA Leadership: Lead the conformity assessment, technical documentation, and Declaration of Conformity preparation for new and existing products.
- Regulatory Expertise: Interpret and apply critical EU Directives, including RoHS, EMC, Low Voltage (LVD), RED, and the Machinery Directive.
- Global Approvals: Coordinate third-party testing and manage certifications for global markets (eg, UL, FCC, CSA).
- Risk Management: Conduct product risk assessments and guide design and manufacturing teams on corrective actions.
- Documentation: Maintain robust, audit-ready technical files and compliance documentation.

- Deep practical knowledge of EU and UK regulatory frameworks and harmonised standards.

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Regulatory Engineer ready to be the regulatory authority behind market-leading products? Are you able to Interpret and apply relevant EU & UK Directives (eg Machinery Directive, Marine Equipment Directive, RoHS, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, RED etc) and harmonised standards?
We are seeking a Regulatory Engineer to own the entire product compliance lifecycle, ensuring our innovative products meet all necessary global standards, with a special focus on the EU and UK markets.
The Role: Compliance Ownership
You will be the key driver for certification across the entire product journey, from initial design review through to market release.
