Summary: The Completions and Handover Manager will oversee the completions and handover process for a major energy project in the North East of the UK. This fixed-term contract role is pivotal in ensuring compliance and structured delivery from construction to operations. The position requires strong leadership and coordination skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams and documentation effectively. The contract is for 12 months with a potential extension based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the completions and handover strategy in line with the project delivery schedule.
- Set up and manage a robust Completions Management System (CMS) to track progress, punch items, certification, and handover deliverables.
- Drive coordination between engineering, construction, commissioning, quality, and client teams to ensure seamless system completions and turnover.
- Develop and manage system handover packages, including documentation, test records, and regulatory compliance.
- Plan and facilitate system walkdowns, punch list creation, and punch closure tracking.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and auditable completions documentation is available for all stakeholders.
- Oversee the readiness for commissioning activities and formal handover milestones.
- Monitor and report on completions progress using appropriate KPIs and dashboards.
- Support the integration of lessons learned, continuous improvement, and digital tools to enhance delivery efficiency.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in completions, turnover, or commissioning roles on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
- Strong understanding of project delivery processes and lifecycle from construction to operations.
- Familiarity with Completions Management Systems (e.g., PIMS CMS, CoConsole, WinPCS, etc.).
- Excellent coordination and leadership skills, with the ability to interface across multi-disciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of UK regulatory and safety requirements in the energy sector.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation control, and stakeholder reporting.
- Right to work in the UK and availability for site-based work in the North East.
- Desirable: Previous experience on grid-scale power or renewable energy infrastructure projects.
- Experience with digital handover systems and document control platforms.
- Project Management or Commissioning certifications (e.g., PMP, APM, or equivalent).
