Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and evaluate job positions to determine classification and salary
- Research and compare compensation trends and data to assure competitive position
- Gather data from market-based compensation surveys, using spreadsheets and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends
- Develop and implement compensation policies and programs
- Collaborate with HR and management to ensure fair and consistent pay practices
- Conduct job evaluations and market pricing studies
- Participate in salary surveys and analyse results
- Prepare reports and presentations on compensation-related topics
- Conduct data and cost analysis to be used in employee negotiations and collective bargaining agreements
- Ensure that compensation practices are compliant with current legislation (pay equity, Fair Labor Standards Act FMLA, HIPAA, etc.)
- Design and prepare ad hoc compensation and budget related reports for management
- Deliver annual merit reviews and budgeting
- Conduct regular audits of the HRIS to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards and reporting requirements
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the US market, including familiarity with employment legislation, compensation practices, and HR compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to compile and analyse data that can be used to create a data storyline
- Ability to take initiative without established guidelines and procedures using independent judgement
- Ability to independently research problem areas, facilitate meetings and decision-making processes
- Ability to research, evaluate, data gather and present results in a clear and concise manner to support data driven decisions
- Maintain strict confidentiality, exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential information

As a Compensation Analyst you will be responsible for the design, development, and evaluation employee compensation programs and policies in the Western Hemisphere (Canada, Columbia, Mexico, USA). This will include researching and analysing market data, conducting job analyses, and making recommendations on a variety of pay and benefits programs.
