Preston City Council are looking to recruit a Community Sports Officer to a position available within the Community Engagement team, located in the Town Hall in Preston. Preston City Council are committed to support residents to lead a healthy lifestyle, with one of those avenues being through sport. This is an exciting opportunity to work with sports organisations, grassroots clubs and other partners in Preston to increase participation and opportunities for residents.
The post-holder will work closely with National Governing Bodies, grassroots clubs and other partners, whilst representing the Council on networks, forum and groups such as Preston Sports Forum and the National Parks Tennis Operator Forum. The postholder will be expected to lead on the delivery of sports events across the city, identify opportunities for the city to host larger events, and support the delivery of a community grants scheme whilst making every contact count.
They are seeking a well-organised, enthusiastic individual who has excellent problem-solving skills and has experience of positively influencing community sports. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, good reporting and presentation skills and thrive on developing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
