About The Role

We’re looking for a confident and capable Community Safety Team Leader to join our Resident Services & Community department on a 12-month secondment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for guiding a small team of officers in delivering high-quality tenancy and neighbourhood services across several local authority areas. Your work will focus on community safety, including tackling anti-social behaviour, supporting victims of domestic abuse, and investigating tenancy fraud. You’ll also manage your own patch, dealing with a range of tenancy and estate matters, ensuring residents receive a responsive and supportive service. You’ll be expected to work closely with internal colleagues and external partners to maintain safe, well-managed estates, and to drive forward improvements that make our communities better places to live. The role involves overseeing legal casework, coordinating estate inspections, supporting safeguarding referrals, and ensuring compliance with housing legislation. You’ll take the lead on MARAC and MAPPA cases, support the onboarding of new tenants, and help resolve complaints in a timely and constructive manner. It’s a varied and rewarding position that offers the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.

About you

You’ll be someone with solid experience in housing or community safety, ideally with a background in managing teams and handling complex tenancy issues. You’ll be comfortable preparing legal cases, attending court, and working with vulnerable residents. Your communication skills will be excellent, and you’ll know how to adapt your approach depending on the situation—whether that’s resolving disputes, supporting colleagues, or working with external agencies. You’ll be organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. A good understanding of housing legislation, safeguarding procedures, and tenancy management is essential, along with the ability to lead by example and inspire confidence in your team. A driving licence and access to a car is required, and while formal housing qualifications would be beneficial, what matters most is your commitment to delivering outstanding service and your passion for making a positive impact in our communities.
