Summary: The role of Interim Community Safety Partnership Manager involves leading and establishing partnership arrangements for the Birmingham Community Safety Partnership (BCSP). The successful candidate will act as the primary contact for community safety initiatives, ensuring collaboration among various stakeholders to address local safety priorities. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, along with a focus on data analysis and strategic planning. The role is based on-site in Central Birmingham for 2 to 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead partnership arrangements within a defined area or theme.
- Serve as the primary contact for internal and external partnerships within the Community Safety agenda.
- Engage with the BCSP Executive Board to align local priorities with strategic themes.
- Advise and direct local and strategic theme partnership groups on service development and delivery.
- Liaise with relevant partners to analyze data for local crime and community issues.
- Assist with the production and delivery of the BCSP's Annual Strategic Assessment.
- Support the delivery of statutory duties of the BCSP and Birmingham City Council.
- Identify funding opportunities and manage budgets according to BCC financial regulations.
- Provide training to partners on CSP agenda themes and policy updates.
- Work as part of a team to connect local delivery with strategic themes.
- Explore new ways to deliver the community safety agenda, incorporating best practices.
- Establish and maintain effective local partnerships and ensure compliance with legislation.
- Lead thematic partnerships and manage projects related to community safety.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in community safety, crime reduction, or related fields.
- Strong leadership and partnership management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and develop strategic plans.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., ASB Act 2014, Crime & Disorder Act 1998, Modern Slavery Act 2015).
- Experience in budget management and identifying funding opportunities.
- Ability to provide training and support to partners.
