Community Psychiatric Nurse - Older People

Summary: The Community Psychiatric Nurse role focuses on providing holistic mental health care for older adults within the Community Mental Health Older Adult Services at the Springwell Centre in Barnet. Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate expert practice in the care of clients with mental health needs.

• Ensure care and interventions are evidence-based and adhere to NICE guidance.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers.
• Participate in regular CPD sessions, reflective practice, and supervision.
• Work flexibly across different locations within the Barnet area as needed.

Key Skills:

• Dip/BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
• Current registration with the appropriate professional body.
• Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience, preferably in a mental health setting.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Experience in managing patient caseloads and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Understanding of user empowerment and commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
