Summary: The Community Psychiatric Nurse role in Salisbury involves providing frontline mental health care within the NHS on a full-time temporary agency contract. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments independently, particularly in high-risk scenarios such as self-harm or attempted suicide/homicide, typically within the Emergency Department.
  • Act swiftly and appropriately in emergency and challenging situations, maintaining professional judgement under pressure.
  • Develop and implement safe discharge plans while effectively managing associated risks.
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and efficiently using RiO.
  • Support student nurses through mentoring, in line with NMC requirements.
  • Carry and manage a caseload effectively and autonomously.

Key Skills:

  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within an acute general hospital or crisis mental health service.
  • Proficient in the use of RiO electronic patient record system.
  • Mentorship qualification.
  • Strong risk management and crisis intervention skills.

Salary (Rate): £27/hour
