Summary: The Community Occupational Therapist role involves providing assessments and therapeutic interventions for both adults and children within the community in Sunderland. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of assessments, including functional, moving and handling, and rehabilitation assessments for adults and children.
- Assess and recommend appropriate assistive equipment and home adaptations to support independent living.
- Collaborate with the Home Improvement Agency to complete joint assessments, providing clinical advice and supporting referrals for Disabled Facility Grant applications.
- Work alongside company representatives to assess the need for specialist or bespoke equipment for customers.
Key Skills:
- Be a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC.
- Proven experience in conducting assessments and providing therapeutic interventions in a community or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of moving and handling techniques, assistive equipment, and home adaptations.
