Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and administer a portfolio of community funds across the north of Scotland.
- Support communities and organizations to ensure funding delivers a legacy for the area.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with communities based on trust.
- Assess funding applications fairly and present assessments to local decision-making panels.
- Act as an ambassador for SSE, building relationships with local and regional stakeholders.
- Advise business units on community development and funding matters.

You will
- Develop, manage and administer a portfolio of community funds across the north of Scotland.
- Working with communities and community organisations to support them in ensuring that the funding delivers legacy for the area.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with communities, built on trust.
- Take a flexible approach to funding and support communities to think strategically about how the funding can be used.
- Assess applications to the fund on a fair and equal basis and present these assessments to local decision-making panels.
- Act as an ambassador for SSE, you will seek to build strong relationships with local and regional stakeholders from community representatives to politicians, ensuring that a positive impact to both the community and company is maximised.
- Work closely with and advising business units on community development and community funding matters such as policy and best practice.
You have
- Strong planning skills. You'll be expected to manage several community funds simultaneously, carefully balancing workload with deadlines in the most efficient and effective manner.
- A background in community development or the Third Sector and an understanding of the challenges facing communities.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in presenting to both small and large groups of people along with experience of dealing with a range of external stakeholders.
- An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office to enable you to produce first-class reports and case studies.
- A degree of flexibility is also required as your role will include working out-with core hours, particularly evenings, and significant travel mainly in Scotland but potentially across the UK and Ireland.
