Summary: This role as a Communications Support Officer involves providing administrative, design, and practical support for internal communications, social media, publications, events, and digital channels. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule approved posts for social media platforms using Trust tools.
  • Take high-quality photos and videos at Trust events and share via social channels.
  • Update intranet and website pages with news and images using the CMS.
  • Design posters, leaflets, and digital graphics using approved templates.
  • Support production of the weekly staff bulletin and monthly team brief packs.
  • Update digital signage across Trust sites and distribute materials to wards and departments.
  • Maintain accurate contact databases and mailing lists.
  • Coordinate print requests, quotes, orders, and deliveries.
  • Book rooms, catering, and equipment; minute meetings and track actions.
  • Provide on-the-day support for events, including set-up, registration, and photography.
  • Run basic social media and website analytics and report key figures to senior staff.
  • Monitor the communications inbox and handle routine enquiries under supervision.
  • Cover for other team members during leave or sickness and keep shared resources organized.

This role is designed to provide day-to-day administrative, design and practical support across internal communications, social media, publications, events and digital channels, supporting the team while also being able to deploy specific skills, such as writing press releases and internal communications across a range of traditional and social media channels.

Content & Channel Support

  • Create and schedule approved posts for Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn using Trust tools (e.g. Hootsuite).
  • Take high-quality photos and short smartphone videos at Trust events and upload or share via social channels (training provided).
  • Update intranet and website pages with news and images using the CMS (training provided).
  • Design posters, leaflets and digital graphics using approved templates.

Internal Communications

  • Support production of the weekly staff bulletin and monthly team brief packs.
  • Update digital signage across Trust sites.
  • Distribute posters and leaflets to wards and departments.

Administration & Coordination

  • Maintain accurate contact databases and mailing lists.
  • Coordinate print requests, quotes, orders and deliveries.
  • Book rooms, catering and equipment; minute meetings and track actions.

Events & Visits

  • Provide on-the-day support for awards events, public engagement, VIP visits and awareness days, including set-up, registration and photography.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Run basic social media and website analytics and flag key figures to Band 6/7 staff.
  • Monitor the communications inbox and handle routine enquiries under supervision.

General

  • Cover for other Band 4 team members during leave or sickness.
  • Keep the shared drive and photo library organised and up to date.
