Summary: The Communications & Change Contractor role in Birmingham focuses on supporting a high-profile transformation programme within Facilities Management (FM). Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive change and communications strategy aligned to programme objectives
  • Create engaging, audience-focused content across multiple channels (e.g. intranet, email, leadership briefings, toolkits)
  • Partner with FM operational teams to translate complex changes into clear, actionable messaging
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and manage communications plans across diverse groups (site teams, suppliers, leadership)
  • Support change impact assessments and readiness activities
  • Facilitate workshops, briefings, and engagement sessions
  • Monitor effectiveness of communications and adapt strategies based on feedback and data
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across all FM sites and functions

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in change management and internal communications within large-scale transformation programmes
  • Strong background working within Facilities Management (FM) environments (hard/soft services, estates, or workplace operations)
  • Demonstrable experience supporting operational or frontline workforce change
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities
  • Experience working in fast-paced, complex environments
  • Familiarity with recognised change frameworks
  • Experience in outsourcing, mobilisation, or FM transformation programmes
  • Knowledge of digital workplace tools (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, engagement platforms)
  • Proactive and self-driven contractor mindset
  • Adaptable and comfortable navigating ambiguity
