Summary: The Comms Systems Engineer role is a contract position based in Gaydon, focusing on developing and maintaining systems engineering competence within a squad. The ideal candidate will have real-world experience in system engineering, particularly in the automotive, aerospace, defence, or rail industries, and will be responsible for ensuring robust requirements and efficient processes. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to guide product development and improve engineering practices. The role is hybrid, allowing for a mix of on-site and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain systems engineering competence in the squad
- Ensure requirements are robust and meet quality standards
- Gather end-user needs, wants, and concerns
- Maintain understanding of system engineering processes and regulatory landscape
- Work with business analysts to develop compliant and efficient processes
- Identify key performance indicators for system engineering processes
- Collaborate with domain product owners to inform product roadmaps
- Guide domain product development by supporting product owners and developers
Key Skills:
- Experience as a System Engineering practitioner across the entire lifecycle
- Application of System Engineering tools and techniques in real-world scenarios
- Influencing business mindset and complex process change
- Experience with SE toolset (e.g., IBM DOORS, Rhapsody, Catia Magic)
- Extensive experience in requirements management practices
- Real-world experience in system engineering process and method development
- Knowledge of system modelling, FMA, Cyber security, and Functional safety practices
- Engineering Degree preferred
