Summary: The Commissioning Engineer (MEICA) role involves overseeing the commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems for water treatment projects in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. The position is initially a long-term contract lasting at least 9 months, with potential for extension and a permanent role thereafter. The engineer will collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure successful commissioning outcomes while adhering to safety and quality standards. Travel between project sites is expected as part of the job responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake MEICA commissioning of new installations across water treatment sector asset improvements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and resource commissioning activities for exceptional performance.
  • Formulate and regularly update a detailed Commissioning Delivery Plan with the Commissioning Manager and Production Teams.
  • Implement commissioning requirements from the earliest project stages to ensure reliable outcomes.
  • Work closely with Project Teams and the client's Commissioning and Operational Teams for successful outcomes.
  • Generate Commissioning Plans during Project Brief/Outline Design stages.
  • Adhere to commissioning processes and procedures to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Provide technical expertise to Project Managers for cost-efficient commissioning activities.
  • Ensure safe testing and commissioning in accordance with H&S legislation.
  • Coordinate internal and supplier resources throughout project delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of water sector experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation commissioning.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple work streams and meet deadlines.
  • Independent and team-oriented work capability.
  • Proficient in computer packages, including BIM software for commissioning planning.
  • Creative problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • Minimum HNC qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Control engineering.
  • Professional qualification is desirable.
  • SSSTS/SMSTS safety qualification is desirable.
