On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Commercial Procurement Specialist (Inside IR35) for a 12 month hybrid contract contract based out of King Charles St, London

The successful candidate will have an expectation of 3 office working days per week in the office and the remainder working from home.

As a Commercial Procurement Specialist, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activity, from business case through to contract award.
  • Provide commercial expertise on procurement, contract management, supplier negotiations and contract variations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and align sourcing activity to category strategies.
  • Support commercial planning by applying market intelligence and category insights.
  • Drive best practice, compliance, governance and value-for-money across procurement activities.
  • Contribute to category management through strategy development, market analysis and sourcing data management.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide advice on complex supplier and contract issues.
  • Develop effective supplier partnerships and manage governance, change requests and contract queries.
  • Manage key contracts, ensuring strong supplier performance, compliance and value for money.
  • Monitor and mitigate contract risks, performance issues and service delivery challenges.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, approvals and audit trails in line with policy requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and the development of commercial best practice.
  • Provide flexible commercial support across procurement, contract management and wider team priorities.
  • Contribute to an agile workforce and undertake additional duties as required.

PLEASE NOTE: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

Essential

  • End-to-end procurement and sourcing expertise.
  • Strong commercial and contract management knowledge.
  • Supplier performance and relationship management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Governance, compliance and risk management expertise.
  • Experience working across complex procurement environments.
  • Collaborative approach with a focus on value for money and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • MCIPS qualified (or working towards).
  • Public Sector procurement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement governance and regulations.
  • Jaggaer system experience.
  • Category management and sourcing expertise.
  • Supplier and contract management experience
